Je suis Professeur des Universités en mécanique des fluides à Centrale Lille Institut et chercheur au Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides de Lille (LMFL). Mes activités de recherche portent sur la physique des écoulements turbulents, avec un intérêt particulier pour la dynamique de la turbulence, les écoulements multiphasiques, les particules inertielles et leurs applications aux problématiques environnementales et industrielles. Mon approche combine des expériences à grande échelle, des techniques de mesure avancées, des développements théoriques et des collaborations numériques afin de mieux comprendre les mécanismes fondamentaux des écoulements complexes. Mes recherches actuelles portent notamment sur les interactions particules–turbulence, les écoulements à bulles, la turbulence atmosphérique, les énergies renouvelables et la dynamique hors équilibre des écoulements turbulents.

Mes centres d’intérêt scientifiques portent sur la compréhension des mécanismes fondamentaux qui gouvernent les écoulements turbulents à différentes échelles. Je m’intéresse en particulier aux interactions entre la turbulence et les phases dispersées telles que les gouttes, les bulles et les particules, ainsi qu’à leur influence sur les systèmes naturels et industriels. Les applications actuelles de mes recherches concernent notamment les énergies renouvelables, les écoulements atmosphériques, la physique des précipitations, les procédés multiphasiques industriels et le transport environnemental. Un objectif central de mes travaux est d’établir un lien entre la physique fondamentale de la turbulence et des applications réalistes à très grand nombre de Reynolds, en s’appuyant sur des expériences avancées et des collaborations internationales.
J’occupe actuellement les fonctions de Directeur adjoint du Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides de Lille (LMFL) et de Directeur par intérim du groupement de recherche CNRS GDR Navier–Stokes 2.00, qui rassemble la communauté française travaillant sur la turbulence et la mécanique des fluides. Je participe également à la stratégie institutionnelle à travers mon implication au sein du Conseil scientifique de Centrale Lille Institut et du conseil d’école de l’ITEEM. Au niveau national, je contribue à l’évaluation de la recherche en tant que membre d’un comité d’évaluation scientifique de l’Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). J’ai coordonné plusieurs programmes de recherche collaboratifs financés par des agences nationales et internationales et je contribue activement au développement de collaborations scientifiques internationales.
