Présentation

Exploring how microscopic structures and thermal fluctuations shape the physics of materials, from nanodevices to biological systems.

I am a CNRS researcher at the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN) and Centrale Lille in Villeneuve d’Ascq, near Lille, France. My research sits at the crossroads of micromechanics, statistical physics, and materials science, and aims to understand how microscopic structures and thermal fluctuations control the macroscopic behavior of materials and devices.

My work develops multiscale theoretical frameworks that bridge the gap between fundamental physical principles and real-world applications in nanotechnology, biophysics, and advanced materials engineering. Over the years, this has led me to explore three main directions:

Micromechanics of heterogeneous materials – Extending and generalizing Eshelby’s classical theory to link microstructure and effective material properties. This work sheds light on how composites and engineered microstructures can be designed to achieve desired macroscopic responses, with direct relevance to modern technologies.

Multiphysics micromechanics – Investigating systems where mechanical, magnetic, electric, and thermal effects are tightly coupled. By combining Eshelby’s theory with dynamic and statistical approaches, I study phenomena such as stress-driven magnetization switching and magnetoelectric memory design, contributing to the development of next-generation nano-devices.

Statistical mechanics of complex systems – Exploring how fluctuations and microscopic interactions shape the behavior of polymers, macromolecules, adhesion processes, fracture, and friction. I use a combination of analytical models and simulations to capture cooperative effects, ensemble-dependent responses, and out-of-equilibrium dynamics, providing new insight into the physics of small systems.

Across these areas, my goal is to uncover the fundamental connections between microscopic mechanisms and emergent macroscopic phenomena. By doing so, I aim to contribute to the design of smarter, more reliable, and more efficient materials and devices—where physics meets technology at the nanoscale.
