Current Position

Associate Professor (Maître de conférences hors classe) at Centrale Lille Institut (Section 62 – Energy and Process Engineering) and researcher at UMET laboratory, in the PReF team (Recycling and Functionalization Processes).

Background

Graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (ENSCL), she completed her PhD in 2007 on the flame reatradancy of PA6 in the framework of a European research project. In 2008, she carried out a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Polytechnic Institute of New York in collaboration with the company ICL-IP in the United States on the flame reatradancy of composites. After two years as a research contract scientist at UMET, she was appointed Associate Professor at ENSCL in 2011.

Her research focuses on process engineering and materials chemistry. She has developed extensive expertise in the development of flame-retardant solutions for materials, including polymer formulations, coatings, and composites, as well as in understanding the fire behaviour of materials. Her work relies on the use and development of advanced characterization tools to investigate materials during thermal degradation and on the design of fire tests representative of real-life fire scenarios. The application fields targeted were E&E, buildings and transportation (railway and aeronautic).

In recent years, her research activities have expanded towards the eco-design of functional materials through the use of biomass-derived resources, including natural fibres for composite materials, biobased FR and synthons for binder development. She is also involved in the development of recyclable and repairable materials based on vitrimer matrices, as well as detachable coatings designed to facilitate recycling and circularity.

Teaching Activities

At Centrale Lille Institut, and more specifically at ENSCL, she teaches analytical chemistry, as well as the synthesis, characterization, and formulation of polymers and composites. Her teaching activities consist mainly of laboratory classes (80%), complemented by lectures and tutorials (20%).

Some of these courses are also delivered to students enrolled in the Chimie-Pékin programme.

In addition, she teaches courses and laboratory sessions on vitrimers at the University level for students enrolled in the IRACM Master's programme, with instruction delivered in English.
