Tien-Tuan DAO is a Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Biomechanics at Centrale Lille Institut, France since 2020. He received the Habilitation (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches - HDR) degree in Computational Biomechanics in 2015 from University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) (France). He received the Engineer Diploma in Computer Sciences in 2006 from University of Cantho (Vietnam). He received the Master degree in Computer Sciences in 2007 and PhD degree in Biomechanics and Bioengineering in 2010 at the UTC respectively. He was awarded Guy Denielou Best Ph.D. Prize in UTC in 2010.
During his PhD, he developed the pioneer work on the coupling between mechanistic modeling with machine learning and artificial intelligence for biomedical applications. Prof. Dao's group focuses on the study of the shape-function metamorphosis processes (pathogenesis and salutogenesis) of complex bio-systems (face, lumbar spine, pelvis, lower limbs) toward novel predictive and preventive cares. He has developed a highly multi-disciplinary research approach integrating mathematics (geometry), biomechanics, mechanics, computer science and technical developments of decision support tools and systems.
